For more than 15 years, I’ve built my career in marketing, and along the way, I’ve had a front-row seat to what makes workplace cultures thrive, and what quietly holds them back.
Why I wrote this book
Over time, I began to notice a pattern in corporate America. So many of the women I worked alongside were brilliant, driven, and capable, yet we were letting our insecurities shape the cultures of the organizations we cared about. Not out of malice, but out of the very human fear of not being enough.
I didn’t have to look far to find it. I saw myself in one of the personas in this book, and growing past it took real, honest work. That experience is at the heart of Don’t Be a Job Justification Girl.
The other personas were inspired by people I’ve known and genuinely respected throughout my career. Some of their habits made the work environment more challenging, but they were never villains. They were talented women navigating the same fears so many of us carry. This book is written with that same compassion: it’s a mirror, not a complaint letter.
Life outside the office
My greatest privilege is my family. I’m a wife to an amazingly supportive husband, and a mom to two incredible sons who changed my world forever. They remind me every day what confidence, kindness, and showing up really look like.
